Clip Autoplayer

Plays your Twitch clips in random order, one after the other, while your break scene is on.

Keeps your break screen alive. While your break scene is on — Be right back, Starting soon — the widget plays your channel's Twitch clips one after the other, in random order, with each clip's title and who made it. Switch to another scene and it stops.

Platforms: Twitch

Action pack: needed — Stream UI - Backend lists your clips and gets their videos. See Who needs what.

Type your break scene's name in the triggers. By default the clips play when OBS switches to a scene named YOUR BREAK SCENE NAME and stop when it leaves it: replace that name with your own scene's in Play clips and Stop clips (Controls tab). OBS must be connected in Streamer.Bot (Stream Apps → OBS), and your overlay's browser source must be in that scene too, or the clips play where nobody sees them.

How it works

  • Your whole channel. The widget plays every clip of your channel, in a random order. Each one plays once before the list is shuffled again, and the same clip never plays twice in a row.
  • Triggers start and stop it. The Play clips triggers start the clips, the Stop clips triggers stop them. By default both are OBS's Scene Changed: Play clips with the condition scene.sceneName = your break scene (switching to it), Stop clips with oldScene.sceneName = your break scene (leaving it). With Streamlabs Desktop or Meld Studio, change both triggers to that app's scene change.
  • The frame stays up while it plays. From Play clips to Stop clips the player stays on screen: the studio logo in its corner and your Text between clips in the middle, behind the video. Between two clips only the video and its title leave, for Pause between clips.
  • Nothing is saved. Each load of the browser source starts a new shuffle. A browser source loading while the break scene is already on waits for the next Play clips.
  • Show it in one overlay. It only displays, so every overlay showing it plays the clips, sound included — the Layout tab warns you.

The video player is shared with the Shoutout widget: both are in the Twitch clips group, and they share their style.

The page

The widget's page works like a small app:

  • Settings, Style and Controls, the tabs over the editor, switch what it shows.
  • The Settings tab has one section, Playback settings, so its fields fill the main area with no column on the left. The Style and Controls tabs list theirs in a column on the left: click one to edit it in the main area.
  • Widget preview, the panel against the window's right edge: the preview, the test buttons and the widget's own URL. The arrow at the top folds it to a slim rail. Drag its left edge to widen it, up to half the window; it keeps its width. Widget shows the widget in its position, cut from the canvas as your browser source draws it; On canvas, the whole canvas.

How to set it up

Connect OBS in Streamer.Bot

Streamer.Bot → Stream Apps → OBS: add it and connect. (Streamlabs Desktop or Meld Studio: connect that app instead, and change the two triggers below to its scene change.)

Switch the widget on

On the Widgets page, switch Clip Autoplayer on. It is off by default.

Name your break scene in the triggers

On the Controls tab, pick Play clips, open its Scene Changed row and replace YOUR BREAK SCENE NAME with your scene's name, exactly as OBS shows it. Do the same in Stop clips.

Put the browser source in that scene

Copy the overlay URL into your browser source → Layout and browser source, and make sure that source is in the break scene. Adding the same source to several scenes is fine.

Style

Clip Autoplayer and Shoutout share one clip player, so they look alike until you change a field of one of them. See Appearance.

On the Style tab, the Styles column lists the elements: pick one to style it in the main area, highlighted on the preview; Text opens a column of its two texts.

Controls

On the widget page's Controls tab:

  • Controls, the column on the left, lists Play clips, Skip clip and Stop clips, each with the names of its triggers. Pick one to see its triggers in Trigger list, beside it.
  • Trigger list: the Streamer.Bot triggers that do it. Play clips and Stop clips start with an OBS Scene Changed row each (see How it works); Skip clip has none. Add trigger adds one, conditions included → Triggers and conditions.
  • The main area has the buttons, also in the controls window:
ControlWhat it does
Play clipsStarts the clips now, whatever the scene, until Stop clips.
Skip clipGoes to the next clip.
Stop clipsStops them.

The buttons need Streamer.Bot connected.
